Creating a blog in WordPress was
very easy. The instructions were clear and very easy to follow although
the process of creating the blog was relatively self-explanatory. Creating a
blog in Learner Blogs and Blogger was also very easy. The instructions were easy to follow and the process was
self-explanatory. In Blogger, Learner Blogs, and WordPress allow you to control
comments and they also allow other users to post on your account in their own
name. The blogs also allow the
user to control who sees the blog.
If I were going to have students set up a blog, I would choose
WordPress. Although Blogger and
Learner Blogs are good blogging tools, I prefer WordPress because it is more
professional. Unlike WordPress,
Learner Blogs is used primarily for educational purposes. In addition, it is relatively easy to
create a blog and it contains more features and customizability. WordPress contains better themes and
the user interface looks better.
Also, compared to Blogger, WordPress is more complex. If I were to help a student set up a
blog, if the student wants to use the blog for educational purposes like
schoolwork, I think that WordPress, Learner Blogs, and Blogger are good sites
for blogging. However, I believe
that creating a blog in Learner Blogs would be more appropriate because the
site was made for educational purposes.
If the student were to blog about their personal life or topics related
to that, I believe that WordPress or Blogger would be good blogging sites. If the student is planning on making a
blog for making professional purposes like a formal profile or a blog for a job
or company, I think WordPress would be a good choice because it has more
features and customizability.
Overall, I found that creating blogs with these sites was easy.

Poem Response
The poem that I found that had the most meaning was “Alone” by Maya Angelou. I think that this poem is had the most meaning because it shows it is difficult to live life alone. In line 7, the quote “Nobody, but nobody can make it out here alone” states that an individual cannot live life without any form of human connection. I also find this meaningful because when I was young, I tried going through a day without speaking with anyone. I found it incredibly difficult to go about my day without any form of human interaction especially when we ran out of toilet paper and I did not know where my mom keeps all the toilet paper rolls.
Identity Song
Anodyne Sea by As I Lay Dying
None of this matters, none of these words. Common and silent we will die in this world.
Weve only spoken to those who agree, and without them we’ve fallen on deaf ears.
Stand on conviction and you will walk alone.
For once I have stood (I have stood), no one will know,
But alone I was born and alone we must go.
In my convictions I've found my own grave, but amongst the dead we all fade away.
Yeah...
Yet solitude is better than a life not worthy of reaction.
There is nothing to lose (nothing). So we stand alone or join those who follow in misery.
In my convictions I've found my own grave, but amongst the dead we all fade away.
In my convictions I've found my own grave, but amongst the dead we all fade away.
Fade away...
Stand on conviction and you'll walk alone.
A voice is only a noise without someone to hear,
And without a crowd to feed that noise grows silent.
For once I have stood, no one will know, but alone I was born and alone we must go.
Fading back into an anodyne sea, to drown with all whove gone before me.
Yeah... We must go.
In my convictions I've found my own grave (my own grave),
But amongst the dead we all fade away. Yeah...
In my convictions (convictions), I've found my own grave,
But amongst the dead we all fade away.
Stand on conviction and you'll walk alone. Yeah...
Fading back into an anodyne sea, to drown with all whove gone before me.
Fading back... fading. Fading back into an anodyne sea.
Fading back... fading. Fading back... fading away.
Weve only spoken to those who agree, and without them we’ve fallen on deaf ears.

I believe that this song represents identity because the song is about speaking your mind and standing up for what you believe in regardless of what the consequences might be. I chose this song because in my opinion, one must believe in whatever they please because that is what shapes their personality and identity. Furthermore, even if you end up as an outsider, it is better to be yourself than be an insider pretending to believe in what you think is not right.
